Pro Bono

Goldfarb Seligman places strong emphasis on its pro bono work, viewing it as its social mission.

We believe that providing legal services to organizations and individuals who cannot afford quality professional legal counsel is an integral part of the firm’s legacy and one of its guiding principles.

The pro bono work at our firm is dedicated to improving the face of our community and to the advancement of important social issues, and extends to various activities and legal fields. The pro bono services are provided to a variety of populations and entities, and offer comprehensive solutions for an array of issues, while focusing on fundamental principles.

The pro bono clients receive the highest quality service, identical to the one provided to the firm’s clients, which together with the professionalism and legal excellence of the firm’s attorneys, granted Goldfarb Seligman its prestigious reputation.

As part of our pro bono work, the firm is in continuous contact with entities which specialize in human rights and social justice issues, among them are the Association for Civil Rights in Israel, the Legal Aid Clinic at Tel Aviv University, and the Legal Aid Program of the Israel Bar Association. These organizations and others allocate legal issues and cases to our firm for further pro bono legal care, and sometimes the legal counseling is performed in collaboration with the organizations’ representatives.

In addition to the pro bono work, the firm upholds a long-standing tradition of community service which is performed through money donations and volunteer work with economically disadvantaged populations. For instance, the firm’s legal teams – interns, attorneys and partners alike, teach classes, and lecture to pupils and students from education and academic institutions, including as part of the legal aid program of the ‘Movement against Poverty’ and ‘A Different Lesson’ (both Israeli nonprofit organizations). The continuous educational activity is held at several classes every year, and concludes with a mock trial preformed with the participation of the students’ parents and teachers.

In addition, for the past several years the firm has taken part in the ‘Good Deeds Day’ in Israel (initiated by businesswoman and philanthropist Shari Arison, owner of the Arison Group), in which Goldfarb Seligman’s entire staff – legal and administrative alike, participate in an array of volunteer activities benefiting the community. The firm strives to incorporate as many legal and administrative employees as possible in its pro bono work. 80 of the firm’s legal staff (partners, attorneys and interns) participate in the legal pro bono representation and consulting, investing a total of 1,000 work hours every year.
