לצד אלו, אריאל מתמחה בהיבטים הרגולטוריים וביצירת התשתית המשפטית של הפעילויות הפיננסיות השונות, ובכלל זה שירותים פיננסיים בנקאיים וחוץ בנקאיים, הנפקה וסליקה של כרטיסי חיוב ושירותי תשלום מבוססי רשת.
כמו כן, הוא מתמחה בעסקאות בינלאומיות בנגזרים פיננסיים.
במסגרת עיסוקו, מייעץ אריאל לגורמים רגולטוריים, לבנקים, מקומיים וזרים, למנפיקי כרטיסי אשראי ולגורמים אחרים הפועלים בתחום מתן השירותים הפיננסיים, וכן מייצג קונצרנים מהגדולים במשק במשאים ומתנים מול גורמים מממנים. בנוסף, עוסק בייעוץ לקרנות פילנתרופיות בינלאומיות בנוגע לפעילותן בישראל ובייעוץ אסטרטגי לגופים ללא כוונת רווח.
אריאל הינו עורך משותף של כתב העת 'תאגידים', ואחראי על עריכת תחום המימון בכתב העת.
