Adv. Sharon Gazit, Head of our Corporate and Technology Department and Senior Vice Chair of the Healthcare and Life Sciences Law Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA), served as co-moderator of the “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Healthcare” panel, alongside Adv. Pieter Tubbergen of the dutch law firm Maaldrink Vermeulen Advocaten. The panel of international experts, held as part of the IBA’s Annual Conference 2019 in Seoul, South Korea, focused on the legal, regulatory and ethical challenges of implementing AI systems in healthcare. Among the panelists were Adv. Julie Korostoff, Chair, IT Transactions & Outsourcing Practice, Mintz; Adv. Florian Kusznier, partner, Wolf Theiss; Prof. Dae Lee, Korea University School of Law; and Prof. Un Lee, Vice President of Gachon University Gil Hospital, who presented the advantages and difficulties of implementing AI in hospitals.
